Men of the airport fire and rescue teams were on ground to help in the evacuation of the passengers after the aircraft veered off the runway.

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has confirmed the incident.

NSIB in a statement said the bureau’s ‘Go Team’ had been deployed to the scene for evacuation of passengers and crew members

It added that the runway 18L was currently closed to traffic.

It would be recalled that  earlier on April 23, a Dana Air aircraft skidded off the Lagos airport runway.

The incident had led to the diversion of other flights to the international airport.
