Police arrest student for killing female colleague after kidnapping, collecting ransom, burying her remains

The police command in Kogi has arrested a 100-level Biology student of the Federal University Lokoja, for killing a female colleague after kidnapping her and collecting ransom from her family.

According to the police, the suspect, simply identified as Jeremiah, has confessed to killing the victim, identified as Deborah.

After he was arrested by the police, he was said to have led them to the bush where he had buried her remains.

Jeremiah was said to have kidnapped and taken her to an uncompleted building before committing the crime.

He initially demanded N400,000 from her family, and after receiving the payment, he then killed her.

The police claim in a video that the deceased’s private part was also cut off.

When asked why he killed her after collecting the N400,000 ransom, he said she had seen his face, and he didn’t want her to escape and expose him.

He again contacted her family after killing her, demanding an additional N10 million.

It was at this point that the police tracked him down and arrested him.
