The late Bilkisu Babangida

Veteran BBC Hausa correspondent Bilkisu Babangida is dead.
A family source who confirmed the incident said that she died in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja after a protracted illness.

He also disclosed that her funeral prayer has been arranged to take place later at the National Mosque Abuja by 1:30 pm.
The deceased journalist, aged 56, is survived by two children and six grandchildren.
“May Allah forgive her shortcomings and grant her Aljannat Firdaus,” the male family member who sought anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the incident added.
