First footage has emerged from the crash site of an Antonov An-24 aircraft that went down near Tynda in Russia’s Amur region on Wednesday.
The twin-engine turboprop plane crashed approximately 15 kilometers from the city, with all 48 people on board presumed dead.
Authorities say both technical failure and pilot error are being investigated as possible causes of the tragic accident.
Emergency crews have reached the wreckage and recovery operations are underway.
This marks the second serious incident involving an An-24 operated by Angara Airlines in the last two months.
On May 26, another An-24 suffered a collapsed front landing gear while landing in Kirensk, Irkutsk region.
The aircraft, which was 51 years old at the time, overran the runway but avoided fatalities.
