The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo has directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to withdraw criminal charges against unruly passengers and some aviation officials.
The affected persons include Nigerian musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and the co-pilot, First Officer Ivan Oloba of VALUEJET, and an Ibom Airline passenger, Comfort Emmanson.
Accordingly, NCAA will reduce K1’s flight ban from six months to one month, restore the licenses of Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and the co-pilot, First Officer Ivan Oloba of VALUEJET, after the same period of one-month.
In the case of Ms. Comfort Emmanson, on the Ibom Airline, Keyamo said he had conferred with Ibom Airline to withdraw the complaint against her today, while directing the the CP of Airport Command to immediately take the remaining steps to facilitate her release from Kirikiri Prisons within this week.
Keyamo also conferred with the leadership of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) and appealed to them to lift the lifetime flying ban imposed on her, to which they agreed.
