Tanko, who was reportedly suspended on Wednesday, tendered a resignation letter on Thursday, but was rejected by the organisation.

The BBC had come under heavy criticisms following a viral workplace harassment video involving a former staff member, Halima Salah.

While featuring on a programme on Arewa24, Salah had alleged harassment within the organisation but did not mention any name.
