Plateau House of Assembly member, Jacob Laven (Pankshin South), has been abducted by armed men.
A family source who craved for anonymity said the lawmaker was kidnapped on Monday evening at his Anguwan Kagji, Dong community, Jos North LGA residence at about 7:30 pm.
It was gathered that the hoodlums were three in number and all masked, waylaid him at the gate of residence when he was returning home.
As he stopped by the gate waiting for his security personnel to open it, the assailants immediately pounced on him and whisked him away to an unknown whereabout.
The family source disclosed that the kidnappers have however contacted the family and demanded a 50 million naira ransom for his release.
The development has stirred apprehension in the community due to recent kidnap incidents.
Incidents of kidnapping in the Dong community are gradually assuming an alarming level.
Prior to the lawmakers abduction, a National Youth Corps member, as well as a student of the University of Jos were abducted barely a forthright ago.
The Police Command in the state had yet to react to the incident as of the time of filing this report.
It spokesman, DSP Alabo Alfred did not respond to media inquiries about the lawmaker’s abduction.
