Sen. Jonah Jang, Ex-Plateau Governor
By Moses Pam
Former Governor of Plateau State, Sen Jonah Jang, has refuted social media reports that he had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
He made this known in a statement issued on Sunday by his spokesman Clinton Garuba.
Jang described the online reports as another attempt by mischief-makers to mislead the public with fake news about him.
According to him, as a founding member of the PDP, he remains in the PDP, which is a party of pride of the Nigerian people.
Sen Jang said he strongly believes that the PDP will soon put its past behind it and reclaim its pride of place.
The statement reads as follows:
”The attention of Senator Dr. Jonah David Jang has been drawn to a fake report circulating on social media about his purported defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and, in some quarters, to the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
“While the former Governor would have ordinarily dismissed the so-called news item as yet another attempt by mischief-makers, it is imperative to state that, as a founding member of the PDP, Senator Jang remains in the party of pride of the Nigerian people – the PDP.
”Even though the PDP is going through turbulent times, it is his firm belief that the numerous ongoing court cases will bring an end to the various crises in the PDP and return it to the pinnacle of Nigerian politics.”
