It is a classical case of the law finally catching one of its own.

Antonio Riano, also known as “El Diablo,” vanished after a 2004 murder outside a bar in Ohio, U.S.A.

A young man was killed. Riano fled the country.

His face appeared on most wanted lists and even on America’s Most Wanted.

Then he disappeared for nearly 20 years.

In 2024, investigators discovered that Riano wasn’t hiding in some remote hideout.

He was living openly in Oaxaca, Mexico, working as a local police officer.

He had been holding that position for about three years.

Badge on. Uniform on. Life was moving forward.

Behind the scenes, U.S. Marshals and Mexican authorities coordinated quietly.

In August 2024, Riano was arrested and extradited back to Ohio.

He was 72 years old, now facing two counts of murder and a felony assault charge.

A judge ordered him to be held without bail.

His defense claims he was never hiding.

Prosecutors say justice doesn’t expire.

After two decades, the badge came off.
