Gov. Monday Okpebholo of Edo has donated new SUV vehicles to three staff members of the Government House and Protocol in recognition of their dedication and hard work.
This is contained in a statement signed by Dr Patrick Ebojele, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor on Friday in Benin.
According to the CPS, the reward was aimed at motivating workers, who had shown exceptional commitment to their duties.
The Governor praised the staff for their discipline and punctuality, noting that their consistent habit of resuming early and closing late had not gone unnoticed.
The governor said, “Today, I allowed this to happen late because I wanted to know whether you would close early, so that you would miss your luck. God kept you, and it has been your habit to come early and close late.
“One day, I saw you trekking and walking very fast to get to the office before time, so I took note of that.
” I watch carefully. You deserve this, and I want you to continue in this manner. We are here to serve the people of Edo.”
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mary Salami expressed gratitude to the governor, describing the gesture as overwhelming.
“I’m so excited and short of words. I really don’t know what to say. I am very grateful to Mr. Governor, . I pray that God Almighty will bless and prosper him and give him the grace to make the right decisions at all times,” Salami said
The beneficiaries include Mary Salami of the Protocol Department, Joel Sylvanus, also in Protocol, and Mike Oshioshio from the ICT unit,
Ebojere said the donation is part of the Governor Okpebholo’s effort to encourage excellence and dedication among public servants in Edo State. (NAN) (www.nannews.ng)
