A leading Nigerian oil marketing company, A.A. Rano Nigeria Limited, has unveiled the first fully automated and unmanned fuel service in its stations across the country.
The service comes with 24/7 service, digital payments, and SmartPump technology nationwide.
The company, founded by billionaire oil magnate, Alhaji Auwalu Rano, said in a statement that the first automated stations are expected to start operations during the month of January 2026.
According to A.A. Rano, this will enable customers to refuel, make contactless payments and complete transactions without attendants.
It further explained that the technology was designed to reduce losses, improve transparency and reassure customers that they are getting the exact volume of fuel for which they pay.
The initiative is being implemented in partnership with Petrosoft Limited, a Nigerian technology company that develops management systems for the oil and gas industry.
The agreement will see Petrosoft deploy its automated station technology across A.A. Rano’s more than 200 retail outlets all over Nigeria.
Petrosoft Chief Executive Officer Dr Joshua Denila said the project was a demonstration of how homegrown technology could solve long-standing challenges in Nigeria’s fuel retail market.
“Our systems are developed locally and built to international standards.
“They are designed to improve efficiency from single stations to large fueling depots,” Denila said.
