Another school girl, aged 12, killed in Kano
A 12-year-old school girl identified as Zuwaira Gambo has been confirmed killed in Kano State.
This comes a few weeks after the the gruesome murder of a five-year-old school girl, Hanifa Abubakar, by her school proprietor, Abdulmalik Tanko.
Abba Anwar, Chief Press Secretary to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, confirmed the incident on Thursday, adding that security agents had already arrested the girl’s alleged killer.
Anwar in a statement said Governor Ganduje confirmed the killing of the teenage girl while playing host to the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission,Tony Ojukwu, who was in the state on a condolence visit over the death of little Hanifa, in his office.
“There is another case of one Zuwaira Gambo, 12 years old, who was also murdered. We got the culprit as security agents trailed him and arrested him.
“The case is also going hand in hand with that of Hanifa. And we are committed to seeing that justice is done.
“We are glad for your special concern over the sad incident. As we remain in synergy with you over this tragedy, we shall follow it up to its logical conclusion,” Ganduje was quoted as saying.
