Sen. Simon Mwadkwon, Ex-Senate Minority Leader
Former Senate Minority Leader and ex–Plateau North Senator, Simon Mwadkwon, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Mwadkwon announced his defection on Saturday during a visit to APC elders in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, citing extensive consultations and a desire for stronger collaboration and effective representation at the national level.
He also declared his intention to contest the Plateau North senatorial seat on the APC platform ahead of the 2027 general elections.

APC leaders in the area welcomed him, describing his defection as a positive boost for the party in Plateau State.
