Breaking: Gunmen abduct another Plateau traditional ruler
The district head of Pushit, in Mangu local government of Plateau state, Da Dikyet Gupiya has been abducted by unknown gunmen.
It was learnt that the abductors stormed the residence of the district head in Maraban Pushit at about 9pm on Thursday night and whisked him away.
A family member of the royal father who pleaded anonymity revealed that the traditional ruler was relaxing in his sitting room after his dinner when the assailants struck.
The source said that after bidding his family goodnight and heading towards his bedroom to rest for the night the gunmem forced their ways into his residence.
The destination of the abductors is not known and no one has contacted the family for any random as at the time of filling this report.
The Police in Jos as well as the special task force were yet to comment on the incident.
The incident is the third in about three months that a traditional ruler in the state was abducted.
The Paramount ruler of Pyem Chiefdom in Mangu LGA, HRH Charles Mato Dakat was abducted in December, 2021.
Also, the District Head of Vom, Jos South LGA, HRH Da Gyang Balat was abducted earlier in January.
