Breaking: Sen. Gbenga Aluko slumps, dies in  Abuja

Sen. Gbenga Aluko of Ekiti South Senatorial District in the National Assembly between 1999 and 2003 (PDP) has slumped and died in Abuja.

A family source said the politician died on Saturday, of suspected heart attack after he collapsed in his office on Saturday.

Aluko, aged 58, was said to have been rushed to a hospital where he was later confirmed dead.

The source also said that the former senator was neither sick nor exhibited any symptom of sickness prior to his collapsing.

The late Aluko, a son to renowned economist, Prof Sam Aluko, was an Ekiti State  governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2018 gubernatorial elections.
