Mrs Shimite Winifred, an aide to the Governor of Delta State, has allegedly been killed by her husband, Pastor Favour Winifred.
The deceased woman was until her sudden death the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export.
A family source, who did not want to be named because of the sensitive nature of the incident, confirmed that the renowned Trade and Economic expert allegedly died following a domestic feud with her husband.
The source also confirmed that the deceased’s husband had been arrested and was already in custody.
“She had a confrontation with her husband, Pastor Favour, which led to her death.
“The Late Shimitte was the Coordinator of the Delta State UNIDO Centre.
“She was the focal person for the implementation of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme in Delta State.
“She produced and presented “African Pot”, a TV documentary that promoted traditional African cuisine, tourism and culture.
“The deceased was a member of the Steering Committee of USAID/NEXTT (Nigerian Expanded Trade and Transport) – Lakaji Trade Corridor.
“She was a member of the Board of Directors of FESECA – Foundation for Economic Change in Africa.
“She served as Contributing Editor on Travel and Tourism with Daily Trust, Leadership and other newspapers,” he said.
Reactions have trailed her death with many advising women to walk out of abusive marriages.
Meanwhile, the police command in Delta had yet to officially reach to the incident as of the time of filing this report.
