Rep James Faleke,(APC-Lagos) Ikeja Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Finance, has refuted media reports about a one-term agreement involving him, former Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello and incumbent Gov Ahmed Ododo for the incumbent to cede power to him in 2027 after serving just one term in office.

Faleke made this known in a statement issued by him on Wednesday in Abuja.

According to him, the story is a fabrication and should be disregarded in its entirety.

The former Kogi governorship aspirant stressed that at no point in time was he a party to such an agreement, whether directly or indirectly.

“I wish to categorically refute a report published by TrackNews, an online news medium, alleging that the Presidency directed His Excellencies, former Governor Yahaya Bello and Governor Usman Ododo, to honour a purported one-term agreement in Kogi State, in which I was allegedly involved.

“For the avoidance of doubt, I state unequivocally that I never had any discussion, nor was I privy to any conversation, arrangement, or agreement regarding a one-term deal in Kogi State or any related matter. At no point in time was I a party to such an agreement, whether directly or indirectly.

“Following the publication of this report, I have been inundated with numerous calls and text messages seeking clarification. I therefore find it necessary to state clearly and firmly that the report is entirely false, misleading, and without any factual basis. The story is a fabrication and should be disregarded in its entirety,” he said.
