First time lawmaker emerges Plateau Assembly Speaker
Mr Moses Sule, a first-time lawmaker in the Plateau State House of Assembly has been elected as the Speaker for the House’s 10th Assembly.
The lawmaker who represents Mikang State Constituency was elected on Tuesday during its inaugural session.
Sule is a former vice chairman of Mikang Local Government Area in the state.
During the inaugural sitting also, Mr Fom Gwottson, the member representing Jos South constituency, was elected deputy speaker.
The young new speaker swore in elected legislators as members of the 10th assembly, shortly after taking his oath of allegiance and oath of office.
Periscope International reports that the Plateau State House of Assembly comprises a total of 24 members.
Whereas the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) occupies 16 seats, the All Progressives Congress (APC) occupies 7 and the Young Progressives Party (YPP) has just 1.
