Gunmen have abducted Rev. Fr Nathaniel Asuwaye, the parish priest of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Karku, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan on Saturday.
Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, the Diocesan Chancellor, who confirmed the incident, said Asuwaye was kidnapped in the morning at his residence alongside 10 other people.
Shanet called for prayers for the speedy release of the priest and other abducted people.
“We kindly invite all priests, Christian faithful, and men and women of good will to pray for Fr. Nathaniel, the other ten people, and the repose of the souls who were killed during the attack.
“The entire Diocese of Kafanchan entrusts them to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of all priests and help of Christians.
”We implore them to pray for their speedy and safe release from the hand of these evildoers,” he added. (NAN)
