Gunmen kidnap father, 3 daughters in Zamfara, demand N100m ransom
Gunmen have kidnapped a man, Alhaji Sabiu Abdulkadir and his three daughters at their Damba residential quarters in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.
A resident of the community, who simply identified himself as Aliyu, disclosed that Alhaji Sabiu and his daughters identified as Hadiza, Fateema and Aisha, were abducted when the terrorists invaded the Damba area.
He said that the kidnappers of the family members have demanded a ransom of N100 million to free the captives.
Aliyu said: “The family’s relations only listen to their voices on the phone. Nobody knows their exact location since the day they were abducted. The money they demanded is much – N100million.
“But I heard their relations have been working on how to raise the money and maybe to beg them to reduce the ransom.”
Sources said that the kidnappers had begun to threaten the lives of their abductees because of the delay in getting the ransom.
Another resident of the area said that the incident occurred just 2 days after the kidnapping of Dr Muhammad Bello Janbaqo, the Chief Imam of the Damba Quarters Central Mosque.
“These people were all kidnapped by bandits in their Homes of resident in Damba quarters gusau Zamfara state and now the bandits called and are demanding for a sum of 100 Million Naira ransom for that of Alhaji sabiu and threatening the lives of these innocent people.
“I am using this medium to call the attention of the Zamfara State Government under the leadership of our father and hardworking Governor, Dr Dauda Lawal to please assist and intervene for this family.
“This is because this man has contributed a lot in the establishment of this present administration out of the spotlight. He is a very hardworking, resilient and also a full supporter and contributor of the DLD administration right from the unset,” he said.
It would be recalled that last Wednesday, gunmen also abducted Bello Janbako, a lecturer and Director, Centre for Research of the Federal University Gusau, Zamfara State, at night at his residence in Damba, Gusau, after overpowering security operatives who attempted to stop them.
