Gunmen kidnap Nasarawa varsity female lecturer
Barely one week after about four students of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, were kidnapped from their hostel near Angwan Kare, a female lecturer of the university, Dr Comfort Adokwe, has also been kidnapped by some gunmen.
According to reports, Adokwe, who is a lecturer in the institution’s Faculty of Administration and also the Deputy Director, Gender Studies, was abducted at night at her Angwan Jaba residence in Keffi.
Sources said that the gunmen invaded the lecturer’s compound on night and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
It was gathered that the kidnappers shot sporadically into the air severally before making away with her.
The development has thrown the entire university community into a state of confusion and apprehension as no one knows who is next to be abducted by the dare-devil gunmen.
When contacted for comments, DSP Ramhan Nansel, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Nasarawa State Command, told newsmen that he had yet to be officially briefed on the incident.
