According to local reports, the victims include his wife, five of their children aged between one and fifteen, and the family’s eldest daughter.

The man identified as Yaw Afriyie was said to be having potency issues and had suspected his wife, Ama Dapaah, of adultery.

Investigations revealed that the man allegedly locked the room from the outside before setting the house on fire while the family was asleep.

Hours later, the man was found dead in a nearby bush, hanging from a tree — confirming suspicions that he had taken his own life.

A disturbing video from the scene showed residents retrieving what was left of the victims from the burnt house, their bodies completely burnt beyond recognition.

The heartbreaking sight drew tears from onlookers as locals and emergency workers joined efforts to recover the remains.

It was further gathered that Afriyie, a farmer and small-scale miner, had been married to Ama Dapaah for more than a decade.

The marriage is said to have had a history of abuse, as Afriyie kept on abusing his wife and the children over the years, with the incidents increasing more recently.

Sources said that Afriyie had spent three months in jail recently for causing life-threatening injuries to two of his children.
