Plateau governorship hopeful Mutfwang says Rep-elect Kwallu a state treasure

Mr Caleb Mutfwang, Plateau State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described Mr Isaac Kwallu, the Reps  member-elect for Shendam, Quaan-Pan, Mikang Federal Constituency, as a great treasure and valuable asset to Plateau State, who must be reckoned with.

Mutfwang stated this in Jos on Saturday, when he played host to Kwallu, who paid him a solidarity visit and also to present his Certificate of Return to Mutfwang at his residence.

Mutfwang who expressed appreciation to Kwallu for the visit, said that it was indeed a thing of honour for a son to return to his father after a good outing.

While congratulating the incoming lawmaker, Mutfwang said that he was amazed by Kwallu’s political achievements and exploits at a relatively young age, adding that the sky was just his beginning.

“You are a promising young man, who is best seen as a Plateau treasure that must be guarded by all patriotic Plateau sons and daughters.

“Congratulations, go forth and make Plateau proud, the people of Plateau are proud of you, “ Mutfwang stressed.

Earlier, Kwallu, who was elected on the platform of the PDP, told his host that he felt it was incumbent on him to come and present his Certificate of Return to his “Governor-in-Waiting” the same way a son would do to his father sequel to his victory in the February National Assembly elections.

The Rep-elect expressed optimism that as they both joyfully shook  hands, so would Mutfwang be presented with his own Certificate of Return after the March 18th rescheduled governorship elections.

Kwallu, a former chairman of Quaan-Pan Local Government Area, was accompanied by his predecessor, Mr Theophilus Shan, who is PDP National Vice Chairman, North Central Zone, among others.

Periscope International recalls that Kwallu had defeated the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Chief John Dafaan, a former Chief of Staff to Gov Simon Lalong and candidate of the governor, with a landslide margin of over 30,000 votes to clinch the Reps ticket for the constituency.

In the same senatorial zone, Gov Lalong was also bombed out of the race for Plateau South Senate seat by a retired Air Force Chief and Fighter Pilot, Air Vice Marshal Napoleon Bali (rtd) of PDP, who was until retirement the Head of the Presidential Air Fleet.

Ahead of next Saturday’s governorship and State Assembly polls, the PDP defeated the ruling APC in the state’s two senatorial seats so far declared, as well as in five out of the eight Reps seats, putting Mutfwang in pole position to win.
