The police command in Delta State has arrested a 54-year-old father, Edward Odega, for allegedly serially sleeping with all his three daughters for seven years.
Odega, who has confessed to the crime, disclosed that he had been sleeping with the girls for the past seven years because he was tempted by the devil.
The PUNCH reports that Odega made the confession in an interview at the police headquarters in Asaba.
“I have three daughters, and I started sleeping with my first daughter when she was 12 years old,” he was quoted as saying.
He also admitted to sleeping with his two other daughters, who are 13 and 15, respectively for the same period of time.
Bright Edafe, the command’s spokesman said the police arrested the suspect, when one of his daughters informed her classmate in school about the serial sexual assault, and the matter was reported to the police.
“The command has arrested a father who had been defiling his three daughters for the past seven years.
“The three children are now aged 13, 15, and 24.
“The act was made public after DPO Ogborikoko division CSP Temi Agbede Zuokumor, who went on a school outreach on enlightenment about such crimes.
“This eventually led to the arrest of the father,” Edafe said.
It was further gathered that the suspect has also been forcefully sleeping with his daughters’ friends who visited them in his home.
