Tinubu confirms Adepoju’s appointment as Comptroller-General of Immigration
President Bola Tinubu has confirmed the appointment of Mrs Wura-Ola Adepoju as the substantive Comptroller-General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
This is contained in a statement issued by the the Public Relations Unit of the Service.
The statement quoted Adepoju as saying: “You may wish to know, that through the grace of God and by the benevolence of the present government, I have been confirmed as a substantive Comptroller General of Immigration.”
She was said to have disclosed this to staff of the NIS during the Comptroller General’s Parade, adding that the date for her decoration would soon be announced.
It would be recalled that Adepoju was appointed the acting CGl when the former acting CG, Isah Jere’s tenure expired on 29 May.
She is the first female and person from Southwestern Nigeria to assume the position since the creation of the service in 1963.
