The late bandit terrorist kingpin Babangida Kachala.
By agency report
Troops of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army have killed Babangida Kachala, a notorious bandit kingpin and second-in-command to Kachala Shuaibu, leader of a criminal gang that has been terrorizing parts of Kogi.
This is contained in a statement by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Lt. Hassan Abdullahi, on Saturday.
Abdullahi said the troops carried out the successful operation under the aegis of Operation ACCORD III, in close collaboration with Other Hybrid Forces (OHF),
According to him, the troops acted on credible intelligence about the movement of bandits within Ofere Forest and the Ayetoro Gbede axis, culminating in the bandit terrorists meeting their Waterloo.
Abdullahi said the combined forces mounted a well-coordinated ambush at a suspected crossing point, resulting in the elimination of the bandit leader’s deputy.
“This success is yet another demonstration of the gallantry, professionalism, and resilience of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state.
”Their continued collaboration and timely response to intelligence have greatly boosted the fight against insecurity, bringing relief and renewed confidence to residents of Kogi State.
“The people of Kogi are urged to continue supporting the security agencies by providing actionable intelligence, as the military remains committed to restoring peace and stability across the state,” he added.
