Breaking: Access Holdings boss, wife, son, others perish in plane crash
Access Holdings boss, Herbert Wigwe, his wife, Chizoba, and son have reportedly died in a plane crash.
The Rivers born billionaire, who was the co-founder and CEO of Access Bank, as well as the founder of Wigwe University, Isiokpo, was also one of Nigeria’s wealthiest individuals, and renowned philanthropist.
The group chairman of the Nigerian Export Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, is also said to have died in the Chopper crash.
The victims were said to have met their sudden death after the Chopper in which they were aboard crashed in California, U.S.
Local reports said the chopper was headed to Las Vegas when it crashed near Boulder City, which is between Nevada and California, on Friday night.
The helicopter was said to have taken off from Palm Springs Airport around 8.45pm and was heading to Las Vegas when it crashed around 10pm.
The Nigerians, Wigwe, 57, his wife, son and Ogunbanjo, were said to be onboard the ill-fated chopper.
The helicopter, a Eurocopter EC 130, had been carrying six people onboard at the time of the incident
It comes just days after a Navy chopper carrying five troops crashed during a routine training flight in Pine Valley, California, Los Angelos.
