Mr Yakubu Maikyau, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
Prof Ayodele Akintunde, the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, who announced the results of the election on Sunday in Abuja declared Maikyau the winner of the election which was conducted online.
According to Akintunde, who is also a SAN, Maikyau polled a total of 22, 342 votes to beat his closest rival, Joe-Kyari Gadzama, SAN, who polled 10, 842 votes.

Mr Taidi Jonathan came a distant third after scoring a total of 1,373 votes.
