A South African Kempton Park Regional Court, has convicted Nomia Ndlovu, a former female police officer, who is currently serving multiple life prison terms for serial murder for a similar crime.
The convict has once again been found guilty, this time for conspiracy to commit murder in a new case that has stunned the country.
The judgment has adding yet another conviction to one of South Africa’s most disturbing criminal histories.
Ndlovu is already serving six concurrent life sentences after being convicted in 2021 for orchestrating the murders of six people.
The victims included her boyfriend and several relatives, in what prosecutors described as a calculated scheme to claim insurance and funeral policy payouts worth more than R1.4 million.
She became nationally infamous after investigators uncovered evidence showing she allegedly arranged the killings of close family members and associates for financial gain.
Now, despite already serving life sentences at Kgosi Mampuru II Maximum Security Prison in Pretoria, Ndlovu has been convicted again in connection with another alleged murder-for-money plot.
According to court proceedings, Ndlovu and her former police colleague, Nomsa Mudau, were accused of conspiring to kill Mudau’s then husband in order to benefit from a life insurance payout reportedly worth R3 million.
Prosecutors alleged the pair attempted to recruit hitmen to carry out the murder and allegedly offered R150,000 for the killing.
However, the alleged plot reportedly collapsed after one of the individuals approached for the job informed the intended victim about the conspiracy instead of carrying out the attack.
That revelation ultimately exposed the alleged murder plan and triggered investigations that led to criminal charges against both women.
Throughout the trial, both Ndlovu and Mudau pleaded not guilty to the allegations. However, the court ruled against them, finding them guilty of conspiracy to commit murder.
The latest conviction has reignited public fascination and outrage surrounding Ndlovu’s criminal history.
Many South Africans have expressed disbelief that someone already serving multiple life sentences could still become involved in another murder conspiracy from behind prison walls.
The original 2021 case against Ndlovu remains one of South Africa’s most shocking true crime stories in recent years.
During that trial, prosecutors detailed how several victims connected to Ndlovu died under suspicious circumstances over a period of years.
Investigators eventually linked the deaths to insurance and funeral policy claims allegedly benefiting the former police officer.
The murders included the deaths of relatives, loved ones, as well as her romantic partner.
The murders showed a pattern that horrified the nation and raised serious questions about abuse of trust, financial greed, and manipulation.
The latest guilty verdict has once again placed focus on issues involving insurance-related murders, criminal conspiracies, and corruption involving former law enforcement personnel.
While sentencing for the new conviction has not yet been finalized, legal observers note that Ndlovu is already serving six life terms.
This has made the upcoming sentencing hearing another major moment in a case that continues to capture national attention.
For many South Africans, the case remains almost impossible to comprehend.
Many wonder why a police officer entrusted with upholding the law would be repeatedly accused and convicted of plotting deadly crimes against people closest to her.
What began years ago as suspicious deaths linked to insurance claims has now evolved into one of the most chilling criminal sagas in modern South African history.
