Gunmen have shot dead a man identified as Obed Okpere in a suspected assassination attack at his residence in Edo State.
It was gathered that the deceased was attempting to switch on his generator when the assailants attacked him.
Sources said the attackers first shot him before inflicting further injuries during the assault, which has left residents of the area in shock and fear.
Security sources confirmed that investigations have commenced to unravel those behind the killing and determine the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The killing has once again raised concerns over growing insecurity and violent crimes in Nigeria.
Family members, friends, and residents are said to be devastated by the tragic incident as the community mourns the loss of the deceased.
They have called on security agencies to intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
