Man arrested for allegedly killing his father in Lagos 

The police command in Lagos State on Tuesday announced the arrest of a 21-year-old man, who  allegedly killed his 70-year-old father.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspect’s mother and the victim’s wife,had reported the matter to the Abule-Egba police division in Lagos.

He said that the complainant reported that at about 3.40 a.m. last Saturday, the suspect used a sharp object to kill  his father in his (father’s) room.

Hundeyin said, “The complainant stated further that on getting to the General Hospital Oke-Odo, the deceased was confirmed dead by a doctor.

“The scene of crime has been visited by the police and the corpse  taken to Isolo General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

“The suspect has been moved to the Homicide Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, for investigation.”

Periscope  International reports that cases of children killing their parents have been on the increase in Nigeria of recent.
