An angry mob has burned to death three suspected killers of the Ponzhi Kwallat, a traditional ruler in Langtang North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspects were allegedly involved in the shooting to death of the traditional ruler, who they attacked and killed at his residence on Thursday night.
The assailants were alleged to have stormed his home, shot him, and fled with his motorcycle and mobile phone.
It was gathered that the traditional ruler’s death plunged residents into grief and heightened tension across the area.
The suspects were apprehended by locals while attempting to sell the stolen motorcycle.
Upon interrogation by the mob, they were said to have confessed to the crime.
It was further gathered that some community members initially sought to hand the suspects over to security operatives.
However, the situation escalated when a group of hoodlums reportedly overpowered them, seized the suspects, and set them on fire near the Langtang North Local Government Council Secretariat.
