Nigerian Police Commissioner emerges Chairman CyberCrime Africa

CP Ifeanyi Uche, Chairman, Interpol African Heads of Cybercrime Units

The International Police Organization, INTERPOL, has appointed Nigerian Police Commissioner, CP Ifeanyi Uche, as Chairman of the African Heads of Cybercrime Units, comprising heads of 54 countries.

CP Uche, who heads the Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF -NCCC), succeeds Ratjindua Tjivikua of Namibia.

CP Uche was appointed during the Africa Working Group Meeting on Cybercrime.

Speaking on his appointment, CP Uche pledged to lead efforts in fostering collaboration among member units to effectively prevent and investigate cybercrimes in Africa.

He advocated for the establishment of African Incident Response Mechanism and Cybersecurity Frameworks to enhance collaboration in combating cybercrime.

The police boss emphasized the need for resource sharing and the establishment of specialized cybercrime units across Africa.
