Mr Leo Keyen, a renowned Nigerian journalist and former General Manager of the Plateau Radio Television Corporation, PRTVC, is dead.
The deceased’s daughter, Sophie Keyen, disclosed this in a social media post, which she shared on her verified Facebook page.
“Your unapologetic Daddy’s girl will miss you every day Pops.
“Sleep peacefully with Angels my first love,” she wrote.
Keyen, from Shendam, Plateau State, Nigeria, was a veteran broadcaster, who also served as Head of the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA) in Washington, DC.
He was widely known in Nigerian and international broadcasting circles for his distinguished career in the media.
Before joining the VOA, Keyen had worked with the state broadcasting outfit, PRTVC, where he rose to the position of General Manager.
He was also one-time Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Circumstances surrounding his death were not immediately available as of press time.
A family source however confided in our correspondent that the departed journalist had been battling a prolonged ailment.
